It's that time of year again, the annual NCTAMC Saw 'em Off BBQ. This year we are having BBQ at Ft. Belvoir on the water.
The BBQ will be held from 1-4pm this Sunday, July 26th. The park is approximately 5 miles from the Franconia-Springfield Metro (Blue Line). If you will be “Metro-ing” and need a ride to the park, please contact Kelli Use, kellilynnuse@gmail.com or 202.297.1000, before you depart and once you arrive at the Metro station. She will be happy to arrange transportation from the Metro.
The park has a children's play area, sand volleyball court, covered benches and a covered pavilion, as well as on-site bathrooms. Pets are welcome at the park!
The following are directions from Route 1:
From Route 1 South turn left towards Ft. Belvoir on Backlick Road and enter through Tulley Gate. Please have proper government issued identification ready for security. Additionally, please do not talk on your cell phone while driving on Post unless you have an ear piece, and please make sure you watch for posted speed limit signs.
Once you enter from Tully Gate, you will turn right on Theote, just after thrift shop/archery center/vet clinic sign. Please look for A&M Club BBQ signs as well. You will pass RV/Boat Storage on your left, and at the stop sign, turn right on Warren. You will continue driving until you come to the "T" in the road, and finally, turn left on Johnson. Parking is available on your right.
As a reminder, current members (those who renewed their membership en lieu of expiration, April 29th 2009) are welcome to enjoy BBQ free of charge. Non-members or those who have not renewed will be charged $20, and will receive a club membership.
