University Row Gold Cup tickets still available!

It's not too late to get your tickets to University Row at the Gold Cup (May 5th)! The ticket gets you an inclusive package that leaves from Rock Bottom/Union Jacks at Ballston Mall 9am on Saturday May 5th and includes food and drink at the event. Chartered buses will depart from Ballston Mall for Gold Cup, and then return to Ballston Mall around 6:30pm.

Online Registration for Muster Ends Tonight

Today is the last day to register online for Muster and take advantage of our online prices. Tickets will be available at the door for the prices listed below. We hope you will be able to join us at both of our events on Muster Day:

The DC Aggies will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery tomorrow at 12:15 pm. If you have never been able to attend a wreath laying before, we highly recommend coming! This is a special honor that we have as the A&M Club of our nation's Capital region. Please plan to arrive by 11:30 am as the ceremony will begin promptly at 12:15 pm. Be reminded that visitors are asked to remain silent around the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as a sign of respect.

This year's DC Aggie Muster ceremony will be held at the Army Navy Country Club, with a buffet, reception, and Silent Auction beginning at 6:00 pm. The Muster program will begin at 7:45 pm. Directions and parking information are below:

The Army Navy Country Club is not Metro accessible. If you need a ride, olease leave a message on the Muster event Facebook page.

Directions:

The Army Navy Country Club is located at 1700 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia (click here for directions). When you pull into the club, drive past all the construction to the clubhouse.

Parking:

All parking will be complimentary valet. Pull up to the front of the clubhouse and the staff will park your car.

Muster is coming up this Saturday, April 21st!

There will be a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery promptly at noon. The ceremony is open to the public, so we suggest you arrive by 11:30am so the ceremony is not disrupted. Please keep in mind that visitors are asked to stay silent in the area around the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier out of respect.

This year's Muster ceremony will be held at the Army Navy Country Club (1700 Army Navy Drive, click here for map). A buffet, reception, and Silent Auction begin at 6:00pm, followed by the Muster program at 7:45pm. This year's speaker is Mr. Harold Adams '61, a recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Alumnus award. A brief biography of Mr. Adams is available on the Muster event page.

Tickets for the Muster ceremony are $20 for members and $30 for non-members when you register online at the Muster event page through Friday, April 20th. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

Come join the DC Aggies as we celebrate one of A&M must unique traditions on Saturday, April 21- Aggie Muster.

This Sunday (Mar 25) at 11:30am (tipoff is noon ET), let's gather at the Crystal City Sports Pub to watch the Lady Aggies Basketball team take on Maryland!

Crystal City Sports Pub is at 529 23rd St. S, Arlington, VA. Lots of street parking nearby, and it is a couple of blocks from the Crystal City Metro Stop (Blue/Yellow Line). When you enter Crystal City Sports pub, tell them you're there for the Women's NCAA Basketball Game, Texas A&M vs Maryland, and they will direct you to the right floor.

Howdy!

Interested in serving the 3,500 Aggies in the Washington DC area next year? The National Capital Texas A&M Club (DC Aggies) has officer and committee chair positions opening up this spring! We are looking at a full year of social, business, and philanthropic events that will keep the Aggie Spirit alive in DC. Here are the available positions:

Officer Positions: President, First Vice President, Activities, Student Development, Membership, Finance, Communications.

Committee Heads: Muster, Game Watching, Summer BBQ, Intramurals, Outreach.

We are accepting applications from now until March 31st. Elections will be held during the first week of April and the new officer year begins on May 1st.

We are excited about our plans for 2012 and 2013 and beyond, but we need your help to make them happen. If you're interested in any of the above positions, or would just like to become involved, please contact Lauren Echols, the current DC Aggies First Vice President, at laurenechols@gmail.com

Welcome to a brand new year for the National Capital Texas A&M Club! As new officers, we're committed and excited to do all we can to improve our club. Do you know of a student who is currently enrolled at Texas A&M University (College Station or Galveston) or who will be starting Fall 2012?

Well, do we have news for you.

The Club has a scholarship fund, which exists to support the education goals of current and prospective Texas A&M University students. Scholarships are awarded based upon the applicant’s character, leadership potential, quality of application, and grade point average. The amount of the scholarship award and number of scholarships will be determined based upon the quality of applicants. If you have any questions about the scholarship application or would like to donate funds to the scholarship, please email Matt Stellbauer at stellbauer@gmail.com

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a resident of the Washington, DC Metropolitan area / National Capital Region.
Applicants must be a current student or have been accepted for studies in graduate/undergraduate course work at Texas A&M University at the College Station or Galveston campuses.
Previous recipients of the National Capital Texas A&M Club Scholarship may reapply.
The award of the scholarship is contingent upon acceptance and enrollment at Texas A&M University or proof of good academic standing with the University.

Applications should be received no later than April 20th, 2012

2010 NCTAMC Saw 'Em Off BBQ Sunday, August 1 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm Ft. The National Capital Texas A&M Club is the focal point for Aggies in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The club was chartered in 1946 and incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1995. The purpose of the club is to:

Serve as a focal point for and promote kinship among former students of Texas A&M University and their families in Washington DC, and adjacent areas; and
Assist the community, the University, and the Association of Former Students in any worthy undertaking to the best of its ability as a Club and as individual former students; and establish and maintain scholarships for worthy DC area students to attend the University.
