Welcome to a brand new year for the National Capital Texas A&M Club! As new officers, we're committed and excited to do all we can to improve our club. We look forward to substantially increasing our membership base, creating communities within the club for our members' various age groups and interests, as well as establishing an internship mentoring and welcoming program. In addition we plan to serve as a resource for all DC-area Aggies looking for strong networking opportunities including providing an extensive job bank and a professional development series. We've identified the need for creating more committees and leadership opportunities with different levels of commitment required (ranging from full commitment at the VP level, to semi- time commitment at the committee chair level). 2010 NCTAMC Saw 'Em Off BBQ Sunday, August 1 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm Ft. Belvoir, Castle Park (http://www.belvoir.army.mil/directions.asp), rain or shine We will have HEB brisket, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Rudy's seasonings, Shiner Bock, and other awesome food from the Lone Star State. We'll have activities for the kiddos, washer pitching, horseshoes, good Texas country music, and lots of FUN. Tickets are $10 for members, $25 for non-members, and $5 for kids under 12. Membership

2010-2011 Membership is now open! Any person in the Washington, D.C. and adjacent areas who at one time was enrolled in any of the regular undergraduate courses at Texas A&M University, or who has received a degree from Texas A&M University shall be eligible for regular membership in the club. A membership may be for an individual or a family (2 or more). Our yearly dues help pay for the club's operating expenses. Below, you have two options to pay dues in becoming an official member of the club, which has membership benefits. Membership benefits include (NEW benefits for 2010-2011!) Supporting your local DC Aggie Network Discounted tickets to club events and functions such as Aggie Muster and Summer Picnic The right to vote for officers and directors of the club and the right to hold office Free DC Aggie T-Shirt for individual memberships and 2 for Family Memberships You membership dues make a direct financial contribution to scholarships for local students...

Scholarships

Do you know of a student who is currently enrolled at Texas A&M University (College Station or Galveston) or who will be starting this fall?

Well do we have news for you.

The Club has a scholarship fund, which exists to support the education goals of current and prospective Texas A&M University students. Scholarships are awarded based upon the applicant’s character, leadership potential, quality of application, and grade point average. The amount of the scholarship award and number of scholarships will be determined based upon the quality of applicants. The application must be received by July 16, 2010. If you have any questions about the scholarship application or would like to donate funds to the scholarship, please Email Emmanual Guillory '06.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be a resident of the Washington, DC Metropolitan area / National Capital Region.
Applicants must be a current student or have been accepted for studies in graduate/undergraduate course work at Texas A&M University at the College Station or Galveston campuses.
Previous recipients of the National Capital Texas A&M Club Scholarship may reapply.
The award of the scholarship is contingent upon acceptance and enrollment at Texas A&M University or proof of good academic standing with the University.
Applications must be received by July 16, 2010.

The National Capital Texas A&M Club is the focal point for Aggies in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The club was chartered in 1946 and incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1995. The purpose of the club is to:

Serve as a focal point for and promote kinship among former students of Texas A&M University and their families in Washington DC, and adjacent areas; and
Assist the community, the University, and the Association of Former Students in any worthy undertaking to the best of its ability as a Club and as individual former students; and establish and maintain scholarships for worthy DC area students to attend the University.
